Burger was ok. Probably not the best you'll have but it's got a pretty nostalgic taste to it and took me back. Onion rings were excellent. It's a cool spot and it will remind you of your childhood. Everything is old schoold and original from the food taste to the decor.

I had one of the worst treatment from an employee at the burger shack. As the only black couple in the restaurant that evening seeing ever got proper treatment. This employee took the salad bowl and stuck it at the side bringing all the liquids to the top of the plastic bag and put no fork or napkin in my take away bag. I’ve been coming there for years and NEVER had that issue.

The Burger Shack is frequently mentioned in neighborhood social media, and for years, I never had the opportunity to try it until today. What caught my attention at first was the dedicated work of the staff. I could be mistaken, but it seems like the place is owned by a family. This reminded me of my home country, where I regularly visited similar family-run businesses that became traditional spots over the years due to their consistent quality and hard work. They manage to maintain their standards without unnecessary investments that wouldn't enhance the business. What I found at The Burger Shack was an extremely flavorful burger, without the need for any modern, hyped-up gimmicks. It was simply an honest burger—one of the best I've tasted in the city. I highly recommend it!

I passed by this old school burger joint and I gotta say I was very impressed. Tried the home burger with cheese and was pleasantly surprised to get options between cheddar, Swiss and another cheese. I went with the Swiss. Burgers are made to order. Fresh kaiser buns and all the fixings done in front of you. I would try the homemade 6oz burger next time. The home burger is cheaper but also a regular frozen burger. However the char taste is noticeable right away! The toppings were fresh and delicious. The burger was well balanced and not too greasy, which I enjoyed! Overall a great burger and one that won't weigh you down. I'll definitely be returning to try the other offerings at the shack. The milk shakes looked delicious too.

Love an authentic grilled burger joint. The atmosphere was awesome a bunch of young families enjoying a casual meal out. Try the onion rings! We’ll be trying the Greek food next time.

Classic homemade-style burger with generous portions. You can customize your toppings to your liking. However, I found the gravy on the poutine to be too salty and thick for my taste. The best item on the menu, though, is their unique onion rings, don't skip them!

Went to Burger Shack after a post of thread had multiple replies that said they had the best burgers however frankly it was very average. Nothing that blew our minds…. Service was fast. Staff were nice but food was alright.

I have been coming here since I was in high school in the early 80s and I am so happy to say this place still has the best burgers in town. And today I stopped by for breakfast for the first time. Loved it. Thank you. 🏆

I often pass by this neighborhood restaurant, and today I finally decided to give it a try. While many customers seem to favor the chicken dinner, I opted for their signature burger. I had heard that their onion rings were thickly battered, almost like doughnuts, so I wasn’t surprised by their unique texture when I tried them. The burgers have a classic, homemade feel, with customizable toppings and a hand-formed patty. Overall, the food was satisfying, though I found the prices a bit on the high side. The standout for me was definitely the onion rings—they’re quite different from what you’d expect and worth a try. The restaurant has a retro, nostalgic vibe and mainly offers fast food-style meals. Next time, I’d like to explore more of the menu, perhaps giving the popular chicken dinner a shot.

Small, fast, and delicious. You can customize the burger toppings but even the basic burger is great. Fries have an actual good flavor and aren’t just salt and oil.

This is in the top 5 of all burgers in Toronto. The fries slap too. The owner eats the greek salad and souvlaki. So do others. How can I go and not get the burger. No I can''t.

Burger Shack is a legend among burger establishments. This is the place that my grandparents took me each Friday night for burgers, fries, and onion rings many years ago. Today, the interior is still the same, the menu board still looks the same, the fold-down seats are still the same, the joy of tasting their authentic burgers is still the same. It is a treat to watch the open flame-broiler unleash the sight of fire with the sound of sizzling grilled meat. The burgers (and steak on a kaiser) taste like real grilled meat because that's what they are (and not some microwaved imitation), and the chicken souvlaki is always tender and juicy. The onion rings deserve particular mention - I have found these to be the best onion rings anywhere. They are thick and plump, moderately crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Add a little bit of gravy, and it doesn't get much better than that. Over the years, things come and go, but Burger Shack has remained the same - uncompromised, unpretentious, real.

Burger Shack is a gem of a spot that embodies humility and quality. The atmosphere is unpretentious, making it an inviting place for anyone seeking a great meal. What truly sets them apart are their perfect burger patties, grilled to perfection over charcoal. This method imparts a delightful smoky flavor that elevates their burgers to a whole new level. For a straightforward yet exceptional burger experience, Burger Shack is the place to be. Their fries and onion rings are as good as their homemade patties.

Randomly saw this place while driving and decided to spin the block and give it a chance. There is free parking thankfully. I ordered the banquet burger, didn't take long. You pick the toppings and sauce you want on there. I also got a spanakopita as dessert. Total came to 15 ISH after tax. I enjoyed my items and hope to come back. They sell steak, souvlaki and various items. It's not exclusively burgers. The interior is very retro like a 1970s diner.

Old school vibes with new school pricing. I ordered the classic cheese burger with poutine not realizing their portions is huge compared to other classic burger joints in the city. The burger was good it was just missing the charred tasting from the grill and the ingredients was fresh that also allowed you to choose your sauce. The poutine was okay, nothing special but it satisfied my hunger. Overall, I had an okay meal will not go out of my way unless someone wants to try. But I can see why this spot is a national institution in the hood as there were a lot of regs that stopped by on a Saturday afternoon.

Long time customers here, nothing beats walking into a place to be greeted with the same familiar faces and smiles. The interior has been the same forever, and it needs to stay exactly the same to keep those old family run restaurant vibes. The most favourite food item here for us is the gravy! Yes, the gravy! A must for fries, the occasional onion ring finds it’s way to gravy too. The onion rings are marvellous, you can bite into an onion ring without the whole onion sliding out. The homemade 6oz burger is always a go-to, of recent though, the beef patties are slightly overcooked, leading to it being a little dry. The bun is so soft, perfect for keeping the “all you want” burger toppings in place. Small parking lot but with free parking.
